These are small provincial towns with all important facilities such as restaurants, shops, supermarkets, post office, banks, medical practice, schools, vocational education, library and weekly market. There is also a train station in Mortágua. The Buçaco and Caramulo nature reserves are nearby. The larger city of Coimbra is about 35 km away.
